I will document the death of the cultural west

We are Europe 1938. The enemy is at the gate and beating on the door. At first it was a calm tap. Then as the enemy beat on our door he noticed no one was answering. The enemy was patient. He waited years to knock. And as time grew, he too grew impatient. The noble wraps on the door became stronger; they grew into pounds until he grew frustrated and kicked the door. The person on the other side finally took notice and was awakened from his slumber. He got his gun and loaded it and held it tight. He gathered his friends around him for safety. Yet soon, his friends began to leave him because they did see any evidence of the knocking. More left, because they heard nothing. Then more because they believed nothing. Soon the man was left alone again in his house. He sat down and began to grow sleepy....he was no longer scared. He sat his gun by the side of his bed and lay down. He fell asleep. This time the enemy came back with a crowbar....and a few of his friends.
